Postcards

postcard

We have just had some colourful postcards printed and would like to share them.

We slip them into library books and books in second-hand shops (as if they were forgotten bookmarks) in the hope that someone will find them and be intrigued enough to look at the website.

It’s quiet, easy, pleasant activism and who knows where it might lead?

The trick is not to get over enthusiastic and put too many in one place in one go. Β If a staff member spots them they will probably just throw them away, and may even check for more in other books. Β But if the occasional one is found by a library user, they might enjoy it, keep it as a bookmark, and one day be curious enough to visit us here.

So, we thought it would be doubly exciting if we could get these out and about in other places around the country, even around the world, and if you’d like to join in you’d be more than welcome.

We have 500 of these babies in our possession and would be glad to send a few to anyone who contacts us asking for some. Β So let us know – are you feeling sneaky? πŸ˜€

  1. Haha if only there were books here to pop the postcards into! But you do have a Tanzania presence that loves the books and work you provide!!!! Great idea by the way. Keep it up my friends xxxx

  3. I’ve snuck cards into books before and would also certainly leave them in our local restaurants. Will offer my address on your contact form if you want to send any along. πŸ™‚

  4. That’s really great idea! It could work for other stuff as well, like pro-vegan leaflets and so on! I live in Finland and are definitely feeling a bit sneaky! πŸ˜‰

  5. Sounds so fun. Maybe one day I’ll find one in a book. πŸ™‚ Do you do Postcrossing.com? Might be one way to get the link to your site out to other countries by sharing your postcards that way. Have fun and hope the project goes good.
